NetSpect signs you in automatically the first time you open it; you just choose a display name. That account lives on your phone until you secure it. In Settings, tap Secure Your Account to add Sign in with Apple or an email and password, so you can get the same account back on a new phone or on netspect.app.
Groups are invite-only. Ask a member for their invite code or link. Open the Map tab, tap the NetSpect logo at the top left to open the side panel, choose Join Group, and enter the code. Opening an invite link does this for you.
Map tab → tap the logo at the top left → Create Group. Once it exists, tap your group's picture at the top left of the Map tab to find your invite code and share it.
On the Map tab, tap a court, then press Start Pickup Here. Everyone in your group gets a notification. To schedule one for a later day, pick the day first from the calendar behind the gear button.
Tap the bell on the Map tab. It lists your group's upcoming games with a live count of who has joined. Tap a game to join or drop out.
Use Cancel on its card in that same list (the bell on the Map tab). Anyone who had joined is told it's off.
Open the Match tab and pick a format. Each player on your side pays their referee fee to lock in their place. Once your side is full and paid, the match goes into City Pool for another group to take, or auto-match pairs you with one. Both groups then vote on the court, everyone is checked in on arrival, and the referee keeps the score.
Yes. City Pool on the Match tab lists matches waiting for an opponent. Tap Take It on one, then fill and pay your side.
Tap an empty seat on your side to invite someone to that one game: someone you've played with, or anyone you share the link with. They play that game and pay the referee fee, without joining your group or its chat.
Ranked seasons are in-person events with a referee at every game. When no season is running, the Ranked screen shows Sign up for the next season. Enter your first and last name; other players can see that name, so use the one you play under.
Check-in works by watching for a small boundary around your court, and it has to work when the app isn't open. Your phone tells NetSpect when you arrive and, while the game is on, checks that you're still there so your time played is measured. We never keep a trail of where you go.
Right after you sign up, iOS asks first about notifications, then about location. If you said no, the app shows a Fix button that takes you to the right place in Settings.
GPS is accurate to roughly 20 to 50 feet, and worse near tall buildings or heavy tree cover. Make sure Precise Location is on. If a credit wasn't returned after a match you attended, email us within 7 days with the date and court.
Yes, in iOS Settings, any time. Check-in won't work while it's off, so a credit reserved for a match won't come back.
A refereed match has a referee, and each player pays a fee through Apple Pay. League and Pro-Am members pay $4.99 for 3v3, $3.99 for 4v4 or 5v5 and $2.99 for a sub; without a membership it's $6.99, $5.99 and $3.99. A ranked 1v1 match has a flat $3 referee fee per player. The amount is shown before you pay. If the match is called off before it's played, or you leave while your side is still filling, the fee becomes match-fee credit for your next refereed match.
A monthly membership for in-person league play, with two plans. League ($14.99 a month) puts you in the season and its standings and gives you member prices on referee fees. Pro-Am ($29.99 a month) adds entry to Pro-Am tournaments when we announce them; tournaments have no cash prizes. You can join in the app, when you go to play a refereed match, or from the My account page at netspect.app. To ask for anything your plan includes, email pointxcross@gmail.com. Pickup runs, the map and chat stay free either way.
A first League membership may start with 14 days free (Pro-Am has none). Your card is saved but not charged until the free days end; cancel before then and you pay nothing. Free weeks are once per person: an account, card or phone that has had them doesn't get them again.
Tap Your membership on your Profile in the app, Manage membership on your My account page at netspect.app, or use the link in your Stripe receipt email. Your membership runs to the end of the free days or the month you paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Deleting your NetSpect account does cancel it, straight away, with no refund for the rest of the month.
Referee fees come back as match credit, not money. League months aren't refunded part-way; if we cancel or can't run a month you paid for, we refund it in full. See the Terms of Service, section 9.
Yes, with a parent's or guardian's permission. The first time you pay, you tick a box to confirm it. Everything free in NetSpect is open to anyone 13 or older.
Tap their profile picture in group chat or on the roster. Report and Block are at the bottom of that panel. Blocking hides their messages from you immediately.
Reports come straight to us, and we act on them within three business days. We may delete a message, remove someone from a group, or suspend or close their account. The person who created a group can also remove a member and reset the group's invite code.
Profile tab → gear icon → Blocked Members, then tap Unblock.
Tap your group's picture at the top left of the Map tab, then Leave Group. You'll need an invite code to rejoin.
Profile tab → gear icon → Delete Account. This is permanent and immediate. Your profile, photo, group membership, credit history and attendance records are deleted. Messages you sent stay in your group's chat with your name replaced by "Deleted player". Any unspent match-fee credit is lost. If you have a league membership, deleting your account cancels it straight away, with no refund for the rest of the month.
Profile tab → gear icon → Notification Settings.
Referees apply on the Careers page at netspect.app, when applications are open.
